The International Conducting Master Class 2007

  • with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, will be held in Vienna, Austria and Olomouc, Czek Republic from August 23 to 30, 2007. The Master Class will begin in Vienna
  • with instruction with piano accompaniment (August 23 26), and instruction with orchestra will follow in Olomouc (August 27 30).

  • The closing concert, with selected participants conducting the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, will be held on August 30 in the Moravian Philharmonic Hall.
  • The master class offers young conductors the opportunity to work with experienced faculty and with a professional orchestra.

  • The purpose of the master class is to promote individual musical excellence and to develop and support conducting skills and talent.

  • The participants will have the opportunity to rehearse the most important repertory currently asked for in major conducting competitions.

Active participation is only possible for the entire course period.

Vienna: University of Music and Performing Arts,
Sailerstätte 26/ Johannesgasse 8, A-1010 Vienna (instruction with piano accompaniment)
Olomouc: Moravian Philharmonic Hall, Horni Nam. 23, 77220 Olomouc (instruction with orchestra and Closing concert)

6.Course Requirements:
The Master Class is open for young conductors (no age limit), especially for those planning to participate in conducting competitions.
7.Fees:
Active participants:
Euro 1,500.-- (students from EU countries: Euro 800.-- )
Passive auditing participants: Euro 200.--
The confirmation of application for The International Conducting Master Class 2007
requires a pre-payment of Euro 200.--. This pre-payment will not be refunded in the case of cancellation after July 1,2007.

Applicants are requested to send, with the application form, a copy of their identity card or passport, their student identification (for students), and 2 passport photos. Students from non-EU countries studying in EU-countries are also requested to send a copy of their residence visa of the country they reside in, as well as a copy of their student identification with current validation.
Information about the transfer from Vienna to Sofia and accommodation will be provided on request.
