I had opportunities to attend masterclasses of Maestro Naoki Sugiyama in July 2013 with Tallinn Sinfonietta in Tallinn, Estonia, and in September 2015 with the Beethoven Symphony Orchestra in Vienna, Austria. Maestro Sugiyama shared his vast experience with all participants of the masterclasses and showed precisely how to improve our conducting skills, encouraging us to work hard on baton technique and score analysis.
I had the great honour of conducting the final concert in the Gläserner Saal of the Musikverein in Vienna, as one of the best participants of the masterclass — a significant first step in my conducting career.
