Japanese-German Philharmonic Society

The Japanese-German Philharmonic Society was established in 1991 with the support of the German Embassy in Japan, Lufthansa, and others, under the presidency of world-renowned conductor and flutist Kurt Redel. The Society aims to deepen international understanding through music and has engaged in performances with orchestras from Germany and Austria, orchestral concerts, opera performances, and chamber music concerts. In addition to performance activities, the Society has conducted conducting masterclasses in Japan and Europe for 29 years, as well as training programs with foreign orchestras.
